This place is located in a random strip mall and I was very surprised at how busy this restaurant was tonight. The waitstaff was friendly and we got seated in a pretty nice booth. We ordered the cavatappi bolognese and the eggplant parmesan. Both came with a side of soup or salad and we both got a soup - we got the chicken noodle soup and the one with beans. We actually switched soups and the bean one was quite tasty. The portions were very big and I was pretty full already even before the entrees came out. The bread was SO good! I was expecting the dried up sticks that Olive Garden tends to serve but these were like pillows of buttery, herby goodness. And the basket you get is quite huge! The entrees were very large - we both finished a little under half of the plate. The meatballs I ordered with my bolognese were very tasty and the eggplant parm was very very cheesy. This was a great place to check out - definitely a neighborhood joint and we will probably be back again if we have cravings for Italian food that isn't from Olive Garden. I have ordered the tiramisu here before and the servings are pretty big and the dessert is very light and fluffy - definitely homemade!

Overall, good food and great service. Our wait staff has always been attentive and friendly, and it's always nice to see the pasta being made as you walk into the restaurant. Their bread is addictive - we always make sure to get an extra basket and bring some home with us. Baked pastas are always great, the veal parm was good but not great, especially for the price. We come here fairly often and are never disappointed.

We hosted a private banquet (baby shower) at Antonio's today. The food was outstanding and the service was wonderful. Antonio's is one of my favorite places... Great job Antonio's!

Great little place, even if it is in a strip mall. Pasta looked good, the menu was big and the little bread that comes with everything is a must have. The only gripe is that the waitress recommended I get a small salad as my meal and it was more like a side salad. So, if you decide on one of those, get a medium for sure.

We were in search of a spot for an early Saturday night dinner before heading into Detroit for an event. Based on the tastes of each of our diners, reading several on-line reviews, and its location, we decided that this would be our spot. I later learned that this has been an old favorite of friends who live in that area, but at the time, it was a blind selection - and wow, was it a great one! Arriving early due to our evening plans, we were seated immediately. However, there was what appeared to be a decent wait upon our departure around 6:15. Side note - I don't think I would have minded a short wait because it would have afforded time to watch the handmade preparation of the angel hair pasta that was being crafted in the glass-enclosed nook in the front of the restaurant. Now, the meal ... we started with appetizers. Both the Calamari Limone and Stuffed Mushrooms (crabmeat and provolone) were both excellent, but the calamari won the rave reviews. The casual mention of their "famous baked rolls" does not do them justice. They were incredible. Warm, lightly crunchy on the outside, soft of the inside, and lightly brushed with butter, we all decided that we could happily make an entire meal of the bread and some good soup. Salads were good, but basic. Those who chose the homemade ranch dressing loved it, the others who opted for the homemade Italian dressing found it to be lacking some flavor. Veal Marsala was very good and the Covatelli Bolognese (with a side of handmade meatballs) were excellent. We all agreed that their marinara was excellent. The Mostaccioli Casseruola (with sausage and meatballs) was also a big hit, but the biggest winner was the Shrimp Scampi - cooked and flavored perfectly with just the right amount of butter and lemon. Only slight disappointment, based solely on taste buds and not preparation, was the Alfredo sauce on the fettuccine. Some added grated parmesan gave it the slightly cheesier flavor we preferred. We truly had no room for dessert but felt as if we had to try something from their detectible homemade dessert platter. We shared tiramisu, which did not disappoint. We look forward to returning when we are back in that neck-of-the-woods to try more of their fabulous, truly home-cooked, traditional Italian cuisine - and leave a little bit of room for dessert.

I can't believe this restaurant was listed as a venue for anything. The food was mediocre and the atmosphere needs updating. It was probably beautiful in the 80's but carpets were torn and the seat in our booth was ripped. we stopped in for dinner to check the place out and glad we did.

Hands down the best bread and pizza in the area! The pasta and meals are great too but I can't deny myself a bacon and pepperoni pizza every time I go! Gluten free options as well for those who are into that.

My hubby & I recently moved back to SE Michigan and were looking for a great place to grab dinner on a Friday night (when you just don't feel like cooking). Antonio's had great reviews online so we decided to give it a shot. From the outside, being in a strip mall & all, we looked at each other questionably but realized we'd set the pre-judgments aside & enter with caution ;) We were pleasantly surprised to enter a place that feels incredibly homey. As soon as you go in you're greeted by friendly host staff & if you look to your immediate right you'll notice a lady making pasta by hand. That's one thing about Antonio's that I absolutely love, the pasta is homemade. We got seated right away, although the place was packed, & immediately picked up the menus. We were starving so when the waitress brought hot-baked garlic buttered bread with our ice-cold waters we were hooked. The bread is amazing - warmed & lightly "puffed" - it goes down easily with wine & dinner. I love seafood so I tried the Shrimp Primavera. Mike got his signature fave (Lasagna). Delicious. I highly recommend. The prices are very reasonable, the service flawless. We've also tried the location in Canton with friends & were equally pleased.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
